The Anderson School of Dance has been establised for over 22 years starting with just 2 Freestyle classes per week to now nearly 20 classes per week in Freestyle Dance, Adult Dance/Fitness, Street Dance, Musical Theatre, Latin Fitness & more recently a solo Latin Technique class.
When the whole world came to a standstill in March 2020 we were not going to give up on our pupils or ASD Dance. Within 3 days of our last physical class we were up & running with our Zoom online classes. They became our new normal & in those online lessons we carried on through sheer grit & determination to make Dance accessible for all ages to enjoy. We produced 3 online Dance Competitions giving the results out in a Virtual Awards Ceremony!! We have loved having the opportunity to teach everyone online & are very grateful to technology. But we are so happy to see everyone back in the Studio dancing all together again. There is nothing better then to see the joy on everyones faces now we are back in Class.
Each & every one of our pupils matter to us, whether you are a new pupil or a regular pupil who has been at the School for a few months or years! We have a number of pupils who have achieved their 5, 7 & 10 year Achievement Awards. We also have one pupil who has progressed through the whole School becoming one of our well respected Assistants in class who has been with us now for over 17 years!!
Since our 1st lesson began at our original home of Dance - the 'Hook Meadow Hall' in Walderslade, we have since opened classes at 3 more venues across Medway. Due to Covid we have just secured a new venue for our School - The Dance Studio within Walderslade Girls School. Not only does it have mirrors, plenty of parking & changing facilities but it has plenty of room for us to leap across the floor, dance & enjoy our Classes to the max!
We are not just a run-of-the-mill Dance School, we strive to get the best out of all our pupils & are just like one large family.
We have a 100% Pass Rate within the IDTA Exams Sessions.
For the 7th year running we are proud to have pupils nominated for the prestigious Freestyle Scholarships which are held in Birmingham every May. These pupils are amongst the Top 75 of the UK to be chosen by an outside IDTA Examiner at Star 1 level or above & who show exceptional standard when taking part in the regular IDTA Exam Sessions. We are one of just a handful of Dance Schools within the South East of England to have pupils put through to the Scholarships & we are incredibly proud of each & everyone who has been nominated.
We have performed in various Theatres & Arenas around the UK including:-
